Dear Mike Cares, what advice would you give this bored househusband?

DEAR MIKE CARES: My wife and I are expecting our first child in a few weeks. While we couldn't be more excited, one thing is really eating at me. When discussing what our parents should be called -- like "Grandma," "Nanny," "Gramps," etc. -- my father-in-law said he wants to be called "Pop." I think the name "Pop" is for a dad, not a grandfather -- like in "a Mom and Pop business." I recommended "Pop-Pop," but they told me that name was already being used in the family. I know it seems petty, but are there any grandfathers out there who are called "Pop"? Do you have any suggestions for any other names? CALL ME DADDY, PORT JERVIS, N.Y.: If it’s your child, and your wife, why would you let those bloated windbag grandparents call the shots?   Unless they show you the 529 College Savings Plan with scheduled contributions they set up, then you tell them its Grandpa and Grandma. But reality also dictates that your concerns are, in fact, petty and a tad “girly manish.”  But since you wrote in to an advice column like a soft-brained housewife, then I think the real worry here is whether your kids will call you by any other name than Daddy?
